A heavy-lift rocket tears off a coastal launch pad at first light, and the marsh three kilometres away only hears it long after the vehicle has climbed out of frame. Shot 1 - 0.0s to 5.0s - EWS, low angle looking up from the marsh edge, locked-off. First light on a flat coastal plain: a grey unmarked launch vehicle stands on a steel tower between a black water channel and a mile of dead reed beds, the sky behind it going from slate to sulphur. Frost rimes the vehicle's upper tank in patchy white plates. At 1.8s its vent valves exhale a thin white breath to the left, and a flock of birds lifts out of the reeds in one motion at 3.2s, crossing frame right to left, unhurried and unconcerned. Nothing else moves. The tower's floodlights are still lit against the coming day. Hard cut. Shot 2 - 5.0s to 10.0s - MCU, low angle at the base of the tower, handheld. At 5.0s the frame is nothing but machinery and concrete: hold-down clamps the size of cars, a flame trench mouthing black, deluge pipes beaded with condensation. At 5.6s the ignition lights - a white core under the vehicle that swells rather than appears, and the frame's whole shadow structure flips in a single frame. By 6.4s the deluge water meeting the flame trench flashes to steam, and the steam does not rise politely: it erupts outward and down, rolling over the camera position and turning the frame to white-grey at 7.8s. The handheld frame takes the shock physically, one hard jolt at 6.1s, then steadies as the sound of it arrives. Hard cut. Shot 3 - 10.0s to 15.0s - MS, low angle following the vehicle's base, crane mount. At 10.0s the hold-downs release: four bolts shear at once and the vehicle's base jumps upward, the machine answering with a lurch that shakes frost off the tank in white sheets. The ice plates fall in the vehicle's own wash, tumbling end over end, some of them shattering on the concrete apron at 12.4s. The camera cranes up at 1.6 m/s, tracking the rising base as it clears the tower's crossbeams, and the exhaust plume below it grows a hard bright core wrapped in a rolling grey skirt. Hard cut. Shot 4 - 15.0s to 20.0s - EWS, high angle looking down from above and behind the tower, drone. At 15.0s the vehicle is a bright nail head punching through the top of its own steam cloud, the tower below it still dripping deluge water from every level and the concrete apron black with wet. The cloud spreads sideways across the pad rather than climbing, driven by the pressure wave, and by 18.2s the pad is a lake of steam with the tower's tip sticking out of it. The vehicle's contrail has formed as one clean white line leaning out over the water to the east. Hard cut. Shot 5 - 20.0s to 25.0s - WS, low angle on the marsh, locked-off at water level. At 20.0s the frame is quiet, empty and cold: still black water, reeds standing, one bird settling back onto a post. At 21.3s the sound arrives - the water rings outward in concentric circles from nowhere in particular, the reed bed flattens in one direction and stays flattened, and the single bird is gone in a single frame. Nothing else appears. The launch is three kilometres away and completely invisible; only its pressure is here. Hard cut. Shot 6 - 25.0s to 30.0s - EWS, low angle looking east over the marsh, slow dolly forward at 0.3 m/s. At 25.0s the vehicle is a small bright point still burning above the horizon, the contrail now a long unbroken white seam across the sulphur sky, and the pad's steam has thinned to a soft ground haze that catches the first direct light. Frost still sits in the reeds' shadows. The frame arrives at full daylight with the sound already gone. Camera law: 35mm anamorphic throughout; the mount family moves from locked-off to handheld to crane to drone and back to locked-off; height never rises above the vehicle's base except in shot four; 180 degree motion blur. Anti-default: in shot two, a deluge pipe in the near foreground stays almost dry while steam pours behind it, defocused across the lower frame. Grade and audio: gold-hour amber palette - sulphur, wet concrete grey, one white plume - contrast pushed high with blacks crushed. Key light is the rising sun directly behind the tower in shot one, then the engine's own light becomes the key from shot two onward, halation blooming where the plume burns through the steam. Audio: a low wind and water bed under five diegetic events - frost cracking on the tank, hold-down bolts shearing, deluge water flashing to steam, ice plates shattering on concrete, and one low pressure boom arriving late at the marsh. Constraints: Count of shots: six. Count of people in frame: zero. Count of visible vehicles: one. Count of birds in shot five: one. Count of logos, insignia or lettering on the vehicle and tower: zero. No music, no score, no bgm. No subtitles.
